Rachel Rosen
Graduate Assistant
Rachel was a graduate student earning her MA in English during her time as a graduate assistant in the Center for Literacy Education. Her research focused on contemporary children’s and young adult literature. After completing her MA in English, Rachel began pursuing a Master Teacher Fellowship in the Department of Education at Wake Forest University. She hopes to teach English at the high school level and has also enjoyed working at the Wake Forest Writing Center

Rachel Thomas
Graduate Assistant
Rachel is from Winston-Salem and attended Appalachian State University for her undergraduate degrees in English and in French. She completed the English Masters Program at Wake Forest before completing the Master Teacher Fellows Program in the Wake Forest Department of Education. She began her career as an English teacher in 2024. In her free time she loves exploring other NC towns, walking and hiking, listening to music, reading, and spending time with her pets.

Holly Thompson
Graduate Assistant
Holly Thompson graduated from the English MA program at Wake Forest University in 2024 after receiving her BA in English from Belmont University. She’s from Lenoir City, Tennessee, which is home to few people and many opossums. After leaving Wake Forest, she enrolled as a Ph.D. student and Teaching Fellow in the Department of English and Comparative Literature with a focus in Rhetoric, Composition, and Literacy at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, powerlifting, and having sustained conversations with her cats. If she could be any vegetable in the world, she would be a radish.

Katie Wooten
Graduate Assistant
Katie Wooten is from Thomasville, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature and minors in Classical Studies and Secondary Education (Licensure). She graduated with a Masters of Arts in English Literature from Wake Forest in 2024. Upon graduation, she began her career as a high school English teacher in Winston-Salem. In her free time, she enjoys watching college football, reading and writing poetry, and a participating in a good board game night.
